The Original All-Purpose Fat, Back Where It Belongs:
Before seed oils crowded out traditional fats, lard rendered from pork fat was the backbone of great cooking — and it’s making a well-deserved comeback. With a high smoke point and a rich, savory flavor, rendered pork lard is exceptional for searing, frying, roasting vegetables, and baking. It’s also a time-honored ingredient in handcrafted soaps and skin care products, where its fatty acid profile makes it deeply conditioning and skin-compatible.
To render: cut the fat into small pieces, place in a heavy pot over low heat, and let it melt slowly over 1–2 hours. Strain through cheesecloth into glass jars. Store at room temperature or refrigerate. The result is a clean, golden lard ready for the kitchen or the craft table.
Quality You Can Trust:
The difference between pasture-raised and conventional pork fat is real. Our Idaho Pasture Pigs’ natural diet and stress-free environment result in fat with a superior nutritional profile, cleaner flavor, and better purity — whether you’re cooking with it or crafting with it.
Each package is vacuum-sealed and frozen at peak freshness, then shipped with dry ice to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Real fat, raised right — straight from our pastures to your kitchen and your craft table.
