Bug Out Ranch is located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. Our cattle and Idaho Pasture Pigs thrive on the rolling pastures and natural landscape that make this region ideal for raising high-quality, pasture-raised livestock.
We primarily raise Angus beef cattle, but we also take great pride in our Idaho Pasture Pigs, a heritage breed known for exceptional flavor.
Our animals are pasture-raised 365 days a year, with additional hay provided through the winter months. Our cattle are finished with a specialized feeding program to ensure optimal marbling and flavor. What makes our Idaho Pasture Pigs unique is that they graze the land just like cattle, giving them a natural diet that produces outstanding pork quality.
Yes, we use a standard 5- or 7-way vaccine on our cattle and calves to prevent herd diseases.
We never use growth hormones or hormone implants on our animals. We also carefully source our feed to ensure it contains no hormones or hormone-based additives. Our commitment to raising clean, natural beef and pork means keeping hormones completely out of the equation.
Our meat comes from animals raised right here on our Texas Hill Country ranch—not from factory farms. Grass-fed means our cattle graze on pasture for the majority of their lives, eating natural grasses and hay. Grain-finished means that in the final months before processing, we supplement their diet with locally sourced grains. This finishing process enhances marbling and creates a richer, more tender beef with exceptional flavor while still maintaining the benefits of pasture-raised cattle. It's the best of both worlds—the health benefits of grass-fed with the superior taste and tenderness of grain-finishing.

Yes! You have complete flexibility! Simply log into your account, view your upcoming subscription delivery, and add any extra products you'd like. You'll still receive your 5% subscription discount on your regular items, and the additional products will be included in the same shipment.
Yes! You have complete flexibility to build your own subscription box. Select any products you want, add them to a subscription plan, and they'll be delivered monthly with an automatic 5% discount. Bulk Beef and Speciality Cuts

We offer a wide variety of premium cuts for both beef and pork. Our beef selection includes everything from popular steaks like ribeye and New York strip to roasts, ground beef, and specialty cuts. Absolutely! We're happy to accommodate specialty cut requests at any time. Please keep in mind that there may be a waiting period while we prepare your custom order at the butcher. Simply contact us with your request, and we'll work out all the details with you to ensure you get exactly what you need
We offer eighth, quarter, and half beef or pork options with limited customization for customers looking to stock their freezer with premium beef and pork at great value. Contact us for bulk orders and pricing.

Storage

Keep the beef frozen until you're ready to use it. In the freezer, it will maintain quality for 6-12 months. Thaw in the refrigerator for best results.
That's perfectly normal and safe! While we ship all products frozen, some thawing during transit is normal and doesn't affect quality or safety. If your meat arrives cold but not fully frozen, you have two options: place it directly in your freezer, or go ahead and cook it that day. Either way, your meat is perfectly safe.

Shipping and Returns

Our beef is vacuum-sealed to lock in freshness and shipped frozen in insulated packaging with dry ice to ensure it arrives in excellent condition. This packaging method maintains quality and safety throughout transit and keeps your meat at the proper temperature.
We currently ship to all locations within Texas. We have plans to expand our shipping area soon, so if you're outside Texas, reach out to us and we'll keep you updated on when we'll be delivering to your region.
Orders ship every Monday and typically arrive within 1-2 days (Tuesday or Wednesday). You'll receive an email with tracking information once your order ships, allowing you to follow your delivery every step of the way.
Our products are shipped frozen with dry ice in insulated packaging, so they'll stay cold for several hours after delivery. Most carriers will leave the package at your door if you're not home. However, we recommend arranging to be home or having someone available to receive the delivery and immediately transfer the products to your freezer for best quality. You'll receive tracking information so you can plan accordingly.
Due to the perishable nature of our products, we cannot accept returns on meat. However, if there's any issue with your order, please contact us immediately with photos taken right after opening the box, and we'll work with you to resolve it. For non-meat products, we accept returns only if items arrive damaged—photos required. For apparel, we accept returns for damaged items only (not for size or color preferences). All claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photos of the issue.
We guarantee that our beef and pork will arrive fresh, properly packaged, and meet our high-quality standards. If your order arrives damaged, doesn't meet your expectations, or has any issues, please reach out to us within 24 hours with photos taken upon opening your package. We'll work directly with you to resolve the issue and ensure your complete satisfaction.
